Life has been eventful, wonderful
January 27, 2010
Funny how life can change in a hurry. I remember last year at this time I was blogging about having to spend the night on the office couch because of the power outage caused by the ice storm. Little did I know that in one years time, my life would change so dramatically.
It’s a change for the good.
In October, I became engaged to an incredible, God-fearing woman. She’s far more than I ever expected or deserve. Our wedding isn’t until June, officially less than 5 months way, but this ride that we’re sharing has been a blast, and I look forward to many wonderful years together with her.
I haven’t mentioned her name in my blog because she’s not comfortable with having her name out there like that, but those of you who are my friends on Facebook and know me personally, you know who she is, and I think you’ll agree, I am a blessed man.
Well, since October, she and I have been busy planning our wedding, or more correctly, she’s been telling me “Go fetch,” and I, of course, “Go fetch.”
We’ve been blessed in the people we’ve hired to be a part of the wedding. From the decorator to the florist and all points in between, everything is coming together.
I’d venture to guess that we’re about 85 percent finished with the wedding planning. We’ve got a few things left to do, such as meet with our pastor for pre-marital counseling, and things like that, but all and all, it’s come together nicely.
Last weekend, she and I finalized the tux’s, and we have them reserved. I’m having my groomsmen got get fitted, and send the info to me.
Earlier this week, we got conformation about the horse and carriage ride, yes, things are falling into place.
About the only thing we haven’t figured out is our honeymoon location. We’re looking at a couple options and checking for best rates, etc. We’re hoping to have that ironed out by mid-February.
Yes, life sure has changed a lot for me in the last 365 days. But it is all for the good. My fiancée has blessed me in amazing ways. I am looking forward to getting our lives together.
